See no outcome from PM’s New York trip: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today stated that he did not see any outcome from the visit of Prime Minister to New York to attend the UN General Assembly.

"She couldn't even bring back a solution for the Rohingya problem." He said that he believes the Prime Minister and the government have not played a positive part in the Rohingya crisis.

After paying respects at the grave of Ziaur Rahman, founder of the BNP, at Chandrima Udyan (capital), the leader of the BNP made the remarks to reporters. Mirza Fakhrul, the head of the Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal's newly formed central committee, offered his respects.

He stated that the government had not taken any action to resolve the Rohingya problem. "They (the government), want to gain international advantage based upon the Rohingya problem...especially from the west."

Fakhrul said that the government has not approached major stakeholders like India and China so far, and that they have not been able find a solution for this (Rohingya). problem.

He said, "We expect them to resign and organize elections to be conducted under a neutral electoral commission, under a neutron interim government."
